Calibration Procedure of Quality Control Instrument |
1.0 OBJECTIVE To lay down the calibration procedure of quality control instruments in quality control department. 2.0 SCOPE This procedure is applicable for calibration of quality control instruments in quality control department. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY QC – Officers/Executive/Senior Executive/Asst. Manager 4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY Head-QC 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Identify the instruments, due for calibration as per calibration calendar mentioned in format number XXX. 5.2 The acceptance criteria in calibration due date is mentioned below: Calibration Frequency Tolerance >Fifteen days +1 day >Monthly +2 days >Quarterly/Four Monthly +7 days >Half yearly +15 days >Yearly +30 days 5.3 Calibration frequency shall be as per respective SOP of the instrument. 5.4 The QC Chemist shall calibrate the instruments as per respective SOP. 5.5 Make necessary entries in usage log books of respective instruments. 5.6 After completion of calibration fill the calibration record format. Duly signed, checked and approved record format shall be attached in respective calibration record file. Tag the instrument with calibration label as per format no. XXX. 5.7 If calibration results are not meeting the acceptance criteria, follow the SOP on out of calibration 5.8 Affix the “Under Maintenance” label (as per format number XXX on the instrument and inform to Head–QC for necessary action. 5.9 After rectification, the instrument shall be calibrated again using respective SOP. |
