1.0 OBJECTIVE of Strip Packing Machine
1.1 This procedure is applicable for cleaning & operation of strip packing machine.

2.1 The scope of this SOP is for the cleaning & operation of strip packing machine.

5.0 Procedure:
5.1 : Procedure for cleaning.
5.1.1 Remove “TO BE CLEANED” tag from the machine.
5.1.2 Remove Hopper, Bowl, Dust Collecting Dish and Channel
5.1.3 Transfer the parts of step no 5.2 to the washing area after keeping it in a specified S.S. container.
5.1.4 Clean the parts of Step no 5.3 as per the SOP for cleaning of equipment.
5.1.5 Bring it back to the department and keep in a specified storage cabinet
5.1.6 Dry clean the machine using clean cloth and remove tablets of previous product and any unwanted material if any.
5.1.7 Record the data in equipment cleaning record.
5.2 Procedure for cleaning.
5.2.1 Collect the required change parts from storage cabinet and take it to the strip packing room.
5.2.2 Switch “ON” the AC and Dehumidifier as to maintain Temperature and relative humidity through the operation and record it in Batch packing record as mentioned specific interval.
5.2.3 By means of adjusting studs and nuts on the left hand roller mount the sealing roller so that the center line of the roller is above the center line of the draw off brushes.
5.2.4 Set right hand sealing roller parallel to the left hand sealing roller adjusting with stud which is given for that.
5.2.5 Set the cavity alignment at sealing rollers.
5.2.6 Switch “ONN” the electronic supply to the machine.
5.2.7 Tighten the pressure setting stud for required sealing pressure until the passing foil is knurled.
5.2.8 Check the impression and sealing for correctness all over the web.
5.2.9 Set the vertical and horizontal cutting as per product requirement.
5.2.10 Mount channel in the centerline between sealing rollers and set the dropping of tablets into the center of sealing rollers by means of adjusting stroke setting stud.
5.2.11 Mount the bowl and hopper and set such as to get required flow of tablets from hopper to the channel by means of adjusting vibrator speed and levelling screws of bowl in production department.
5.2.12 Affix the stereo on batch over coding printing drum and mount it in it’s position on the machine.
5.2.13 Take printing of the stereos on the foil in such away that impression of all affixed stereos obtained in clean, clear, and re-presentable manner as per specific requirement of the respective products and apply ink and thinner using a dropper while operation as required
Operation:
5.2.14 Check the cleanliness of machine and the surrounding area.
5.2.15 Affix “STAGE LABLE” on the machine.
5.2.16 Take Line clearance from Q.A. officer.
5.2.17 Record the temperature and Relative humidity in BPR.
5.2.18 Load the hopper with tablets to be packed.
5.2.19 Switch “ON” the machine for trial run and collect require strips for leak test As per respective sop
5.2.20 Start the machine and arrange the manpower on the conveyer belt
5.2.21 While stripping is going on, collect the rejected strips separately (for incorrectness of printing, improper over coding sealing defects, empty cavities or broken tablets)before it goes on conveyer belt for carton packing.
5.2.22 Arrange workmen on conveyer for collecting, checking counting of strips, cartooning the checking of completeness of cartons packed and for final packing of cartons in to the shipper carton boxes and arrange it on to the given pellets affixing the shipper label and filled as per product’s Batch Packing Record and signed by Pkg. chemist.
5.2.23 Record the in process control results in the BPR for the product being packed
5.2.24 DE foil the bad strips collect good tablets and repack.
5.2.25 Collect the Rejected bad /broken tablets in a poly bag and label.
5.2.26 On completion of the packing, switch “OFF” the machine and calculate the yield in batch packing record.
