SOP for Operation, Cleaning & Calibration of Moisture Analyzer |
1.0 PURPOSE: To describe the procedure for Operation, Cleaning & Calibration of Moisture Analyzer. 2.0 SCOPE: This SOP is applicable for Operation, Cleaning & Calibration of Moisture Analyzer. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: QC Officer & Executive –Quality Control 4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY: QC-Head and QA-Head 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 Operational Procedure: 5.1.1 Switch ON the instrument by pressing power key. Check the spirit level bubble point, Allow the instrument to initialize. Press the Menu Key and Set the temperature by pressing the temperature key and then the arrow mark to enter the value of the temperature required on the display panel and press enters key. 5.1.2 Press the “timer” key (marked by clock icon) and then adjust the time in minutes as required using arrow keys and then press enter key. In case of drying to constant weight press the first key next to “ON/OFF” switch repeatedly till the display above that on the screen shows ‘t’ inferring test method. 5.1.3 Open the sample chamber. Carefully remove the sample holder and clean the aluminium pan, then places the pan back in place & put back the sample holder in place. 5.1.4 Make auto zero by pressing the “Enter” key. Open the sample chamber. If, the sample is in lumps, reduce the sample in such a way that no moisture loss due to size reduction. 5.1.5 Evenly spread about 1-2 g sample as an uniform layer on the pan. close the sample chamber. Press the start key and display flashing on the screen, which indicates the drying, is in process. 5.1.6 As the process of drying is over in oven, the screen will display the loss on drying in percentage and the results shall be noted in notepad, In case of test mode, wait till the results are constant as seen on the display, then press stop key in quality control lab. 5.1.7 Allow the sample to cool before removing the sample. Open the sample chamber, remove the pan, clean this with tissue paper and place it back into its position. 5.1.8 Close the sample chamber and press “Reset” key to make the next measurement. Enter the results in the respective records. 5.2 Calibration of Moisture Analyzer instrument. 5.2.1 Switch ON the instrument by pressing power key. Check the spirit level bubble point, Allow the instrument to initialize. 5.2.2 Open the sample chamber Carefully removed the sample holder and cleaned the aluminium pan, then places the pan back in place & put back the sample holder in place in qc. 5.2.3 Make auto zero by pressing the “Enter” key. Open the sample chamber and spread 1gm, 2gm, 3 gm, 4 gm and 5 gm Standard Disodium Tartrate Dihydrate respectively as an uniform layer on the Pan and close the chamber. Press the start key and display flashing on the screen, which indicates the drying, is in process. 5.2.4 As the process of drying is over, the screen will display the loss on drying in percentage and the results shall be noted, In case of test mode, wait till the results are constant as seen on the display, then press stop key. 5.3 CLEANING of Moisture Analyzer. 5.3.1 Clean the instrument with lint free cloth when it is at room temperature. 5.4 PRECAUTIONS of Moisture Analyzer. 5.4.1 Proper handling of the Instrument in quality control lab 5.4.2 Switch off the instrument after use. |
