1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for Operating and Cleaning Pouch Filling Machine. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the Operating & Cleaning of Pouch Filling Machine. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Trained Technician / Operator are responsible for operating and cleaning of the machine as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP. 3.2 Production Officer/ Supervisor are responsible for implementation of the procedure as per this SOP. 3.3 Production Head is responsible for compliance of procedure as per this SOP(Pouch Filling Machine). 4.0 PROCEDURE: 4.1 Operating Procedure 4.1.1 Before starting of operation, visually checks the cleaning of area and equipment/machine with ‘CLEANED’ label duly filled and signed by production department. Inform IPQA for the verification of cleaning of area and equipment/machine. After clearance by IPQA person, remove the cleaned label and attach in batch record (BPR). Also mention the status of the area on sign board outside the door. 4.1.2 Switch “ON” the main power supply. 4.1.3 Switch “ON” the machine by pressing green color button over the panel. 4.1.4 Compressed air “ON” by turning black color button in clock wise direction over the panel. 4.1.5 Adjust the air pressure by turning blue color key which is present on Air cylinder in clock-wise direction. Air pressure must be in between 4 to 6 kg. 4.1.6 Transfer filling material in to filling tank through transfer pump. 4.1.7 Press the foot switch at the time of filling of pouch. Adjust the filling volume by rotating the reference spot. 4.1.8 Check the volume of first 6 filled pouch as first in process checking (if found unsatisfactory repeat step no. – 4.1.7). 4.1.9 Start the machine in running mode if first in process is found ok. 4.1.10 Record the machine detail in machine log book. 4.1.11 Affix “Batch In process ” Label on the machine. To read this SOP click here SOP for Cleaning Procedure For Tanks 1000 Kg And 500 Kg. 4.2 Cleaning Procedure 4.2.1 Type –“B” – During Product Change Over 4.2.1.1 Mention the cleaning status on sign board outside the door. 4.2.1.2 Dismantle the pumps and nozzles from the machine. 4.2.1.3 Wash the filling tank and pipe line with 0.1% Teepol solution thoroughly (e.g. 10 gm of Teepol into 10 Liters of potable water). 4.2.1.4 Then wash the nozzle and pipes with 0.1% Teepol solution. 4.2.1.5 Finally wash the all parts of the machine with purified water until remove the trace of foam. 4.2.1.6 Inform IPQA to collect the wash water sample through In-process Analytical Request / Report. 4.2.1.7 After receiving wash water analysis report for compliance, affix a ‘Cleaned’ label duly filled and signed on the equipment as per SOP titled “Procedure for Use of Labels in Manufacturing Department XXX. 4.2.1.8 Record the cleaning details in Machine Log Book As per Format no. XXX. 4.2.2 Type – “A” – For Batch to Batch Change Over (of same product) 4.2.2.1 Mention the cleaning status on sign board outside the door. 4.2.2.2 Switch ‘OFF’ the electric supply over the panel. 4.2.2.3 Wash the filling tank cylinder, nozzle, pipes, with purified water and inform the production supervisor/officer for inspection. 4.2.2.4 After visual inspection by the production supervisor/officer, mention the cleaning status on the sign board outside the door and affix the cleaning status label on the equipment/machine. 4.2.2.5 Record the cleaning details in Machine Log Book As per Format no. XXX. 4.3 Frequency 4.3.1 Type – “A”: During the batch to batch Change over (for same product) or after 24 hours. 4.3.2 Type – “B”: During the product changeover or after completion of consecutive 5 batches of same product or after 72 hours (if machine not in use) 5.0 ABBREVIATIONS 5.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 5.2 IPQA : In Process Quality Assurance 5.3 BPR : Batch Packing Record |
