1.0 OBJECTIVE To lay down the procedure for Operation and Handling of Hot Plate. 2.0 SCOPE This SOP is applicable for Operation and Handling of Hot Plate in quality control department. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY QC – Officer /Sr. Officer/ Executive and above. 4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY Head-QC 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Operation procedure: 5.1.1 Ensure that the equipment is clean and free from dust. 5.1.2 Connect the main cord with the main supply. 5.1.3 Main on the toggle switch. 5.1.4 The red light provided on the front of the plate will glow. 5.1.5 Adjust the black knob by rotating clock wise to require temperature. 5.1.6 After 10 to 15 minutes the hot plate will attain the temperature. 5.1.7 Keep the sample on the hot plate. 5.1.8 After use put off the main supply. 5.2 Precaution Procedure: 5.2.1 Handle the equipment properly. 5.2.2 Any type of solvent & chemicals should not retain near the hot plate. 5.3 Cleaning Procedure: 5.3.1 Clean the equipment with dry cloth to remove the dust before and after use. 5.3.2 To ensure that equipment should be cool at the time of cleaning. 5.3.3 Interior maintenance of the instrument should be done by service engineer whenever is needed. |
