| Bromothymol Blue Solution |
1.0 Scope: This procedure is applicable for preparation of Bromothymol Blue Solution. 2.0 Apparatus: 2.1 100 ml volumetric flask 2.2 4 ml Pipette 2.3 0.3 ml Burette Pipette 3.0 Preparation: Dissolve 50.0mg of bromothymol blue in 4 ml of 0.02 M Sodium hydroxide and 20 ml of ethanol (95 per cent). After solution is effected, add sufficient purified water to produce 100 ml. 4.0 Storage: Stored in a plastic/glass bottle at room temperature. 5.0 Sensitivity Test (if applicable): A mixture of 0.3 ml if the solution and 100 ml of Purified/ Milli-Q water is yellow. Not More than 0.1 ml of 0.02 M sodium hydroxide is required to change the Colour to blue. |
