1.0 OBJECTIVE:-
1.1 To maintain the procedure to prepare cleaning of Octagonal Blender.
2.0 SCOPE: –
2.1 To prevent cross contamination between different products. This procedure is applicable for Cleaning & operation of octagonal blender production area.

5.0 Procedure
5.1 : Procedure of cleaning
5.1.1 Ensure the main switch is “OFF” & plug is removed
5.1.2 Remove “TO BE CLEANED” tag from equipment.
5.1.3 Pour approximately 50 litters of tap water into octagonals blender and close butter fly valve. Switch on the octagonals blender for 10 to 15 min
5.1.4 Collect the rinse water through butter fly valve in a plastic container and drain it in the washing area..
5.1.5 Unclamp bottom plate & take it into washing area rinse it with purified water & clean using lint free cloth
5.1.6 Rinsing the inner part of octagonals blender with tap/purified water in production area.
5.1.7 Clamp the clean bottom plate to octagonals blender. Fix the positions of bottom plate at the top of octagonal blender connect the bottom plate with purified water pipe & rinse inside octagonals blender with D.M. Water through sprinkle and allow to dry it.
5.1.8 Clean outer parts of the octagonals blender using purified water and finally by clean lint free cloth
5.1.9 Cleaning the surrounding area of the machine.
5.1.10 Record the details in log sheet as per Annex 1 of this SOP.
5.1.11 SAFETY: Protect electrical parts from water contact.
5.1.12 FREQUENCY: Product to product changes over & batch to batch proper cleaning.
5.2 Procedure of Operation
5.2.1 Check for the cleanliness of Octagonal blender and surrounding area.
5.2.2 Take line clearance from Q.A. department as per respective SOP.
5.2.3 Open the bottom plate of Octagonal blender and load the material in production areas.
5.2.4 Close bottom plate then switch “ON” the Octagonal blender and affix stage label on it.
5.2.5 Blend the material for the time specified in the master formula card at fast speed
5.2.6 Unload the material in a clean drum lined with single poly bag (Use double poly bags for hygroscopic products).
5.2.7 Affix a container label on it
5.2.8 Affix a “TO BE CLEANED” label on Octagonal blender.
