1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down a procedure for operation of purified water generation system. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the purified water generation system. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Sanitization: Concerned Utility Operator. 3.2 Monitoring: Officer Engineering. 3.3 Overall Responsibility: Engineering In charge. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 CC NO : Change Control Number 4.3 RO : Reverse osmosis 4.4 CF : Cartridge filter. 4.5 EDI : Electro de-ionization 4.6 NMT : Not more than 4.7 MMI : Man machine interface 4.8 PLC : Program Logic Controller To Read this SOP click here SOP for Regeneration For Softener. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 Sanitization Procedure For Water Generation System 5.1.1 Make sure that the purified water storage tank is full, if not first fill the tank before starting the sanitization of purified generation system. 5.1.2 Inform the concern department before starting of sanitization. 5.1.3 After clearance from concern department start the activity of sanitization. 5.1.4 Make sure telephonically or any suitable means that the concern area is free from production activity. 5.1.5 Make sure the utilities (i.e. compressed Air ) are available to the system at required pressure (4 to 6 kg/cm²). 5.1.6 Switch on the main power supply at the panel by means of starter switch at lower side of Control panel. 5.1.7 Switch on the MCB at the control panel for powering the PLC and MMI Enter the password and start the system. Then press the auto mode for sanitization. 5.1.8 Make the connection of feed pump (SWP-3) with external tank (STN-01). 5.1.9 For RO sanitization, Minicare / Genesol 40 solution is used in the tank (STN-01) with the ratio of 1:100 with the purified water. 5.1.10 Put the system in SANITIZATION mode with the help of MMI on the panel door. 5.1.11 Pump (SWP-3) will start feeding water to the RO system. 5.1.12 Flow rate to the system should not be less then 1500 ltr./hr (if flow rate is less then 1500 ltr./hr then change or repair the pump) ,which is visible in the Rota meter (RM-02). To Read this SOP click here SOP for Preventive Maintenance For Cooling Tower. 5.1.13 Make sure that the treated water is flowing through the MCF, ROHP-1, ROHP-2 and membranes in Array I, Array II, and Array III. 5.1.14 Rejection from RO I i.e. Array I and Array II should go back to the tank (STN-01). 5.1.15 Rejection from RO II i.e. Array III should also be going back to the tank (STN-01). 5.1.16 Ensure that all the valves from AV-01 to AV-06 are closed. 5.1.17 Let the cycle run for 50 minutes through the system. 5.1.18 Stop the cycle with the help of MMI. 5.1.19 Drain the treated water left in the tank (STN-01). 5.1.20 Now fill the soft water tank (SWT-02) with soft water. 5.1.21 Make the connection of the feed pump (SWP-03) back to the tank (SWT-02). 5.1.22 With the help of the MMI go to the AUTO MODE and then to the AUTO FLUSHING Mode. 5.1.23 Start the AUTO FLUSHING mode from the MMI. 5.1.24 Ensure that all the valves from AV-02 to AV-06 are closed. 5.1.25 Valve AV-07 will open in this cycle automatically, so that water flowing through the RO should run down the drain. 5.1.26 Let the tank (SWT-02) be empty. 5.1.27 Refill the tank (SWT-02) with the fresh soft water. 5.1.28 The RO system is now ready for normal operation. 5.1.29 Frequency: twice a month. 5.1.30 Record all the data. |
