1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down a procedure for Cleaning of In process Stainless Steel items used in Production. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the cleaning of in process Stainless Steel items like S.S. containers, spatulas, S.S. Bowls and Bins, Plates, S.S. Mugs, etc. 3.0 Accountability 3.1 Production-Head 4.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 4.1 Trained technician shall be responsible for cleaning of the items as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP. 4.2 Production Officer /Supervisor shall be responsible for implementation of the procedure as per this SOP. 4.3 Head, Production shall be responsible for compliance of procedure as per SOP. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 Take all the S.S. items used in same product to the washing area. 5.2 Affix the ‘Under Cleaning’ label duly filled and signed as per SOP titled “Procedure for Use of Labels in Manufacturing Department. 5.3 Type – “A”: For batch-to-batch (same product) changeover. 5.3.1 Wash the SS items with sufficient quantity of potable water till visually clean and then finally rinse with Purified Water. 5.3.2 Affix the ‘Cleaned’ label duly filled and signed as per SOP titled “Procedure for Use of Labels in Manufacturing Department. To read this SOP Click here SOP for Operation and Qualification Of Steam Sterilizer. 5.4 Type –“B”: For product changeover. 5.4.1 Flush with sufficient quantity of potable water. Dip into 0.1%w/w Teepol solution (e.g. 10 gm Teepol solution in to 10 L of potable water) and rub with nylon brush. 5.4.2 Wash thoroughly with potable water till all the traces of foam are removed. Finally, rinse with sufficient quantity of Purified Water/water for injections. Collect small S. S. items washed at a time in a S. S. tub. 5.4.3 Wipe each item with a clean dry lint free cloth. After receiving the wash water analysis report for compliance, these items shall be stored in the designated storage place after keeping in a well-tied poly bags and affix a “CLEANED” label duly filled and signed as per SOP titled “Procedure for Use of Labels in Manufacturing Department. 5.5 Frequency: 5.5.1 Type “A”: During the batch to batch Change over (for same product) or after 24 hours. 5.5.2 Type “B”: During the product changeover or after completion of consecutive 5 batches of same product or after 72 hours (if Items not in use). |
