1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for Handling Of Left Over Samples in Quality control department. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for Handling Of Left Over Samples in QC Department. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Quality Control Officer / Executive are responsible to follow procedure as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP. 3.2 QC Head is responsible for implementation and compliance of the procedure as per this SOP Quality control department. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 QC : Quality Control 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 Samples after analysis shall be kept in allotted place. 5.2 Special chemicals (hazardous) shall be handled and stored with necessary precautions. 5.3 Samples shall be disposed off once a week or as when required. 5.4 The following procedure shall be adopted for disposal depending on the nature of material. To Read this SOP Click Here SOP for Handling of Audits. 5.5 Special Chemicals / Hazardous 5.5.1 Chemicals like Acids/Acid chlorides and similar materials shall be disposed off after neutralization and dilution. 5.6 Non – Hazardous Liquids 5.6.1 After analysis, solvents/liquids shall be drained down in the sink under copious running water. 5.7 Control Samples 5.7.1 The control samples due for disposal as per current SOP on “handling of control samples” shall be emptied into pre-labelled disposal bags or containers. The disposal bag(s) or containers shall be transferred for incineration. 5.8 In-Process samples 5.8.1 In-process samples shall be destroying immediately after analysis. |
