5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 Factory Sanitation, Housekeeping & Cleaning shall aim at protecting the areas, equipment and products from contamination by environment and operations. The procedure shall include:

5.1.1 Good Housekeeping & Cleaning
5.1.2 Sanitation procedure and Housekeeping
5.1.3 The areas which require cleaning at frequent intervals are :
5.1.3.1 Area surrounding the building Housekeeping
5.1.3.2 Ceiling, Light fixtures, Floors, corridors, doors, walls, windows and wash basins.
5.1.3.3 Canteen.
5.1.3.4 Toilet blocks and urinals
5.2 Precautions to be taken for cleaning / disinfection solutions:
5.2.1 Housekeeping Cleaning and disinfectant sanitizing agents shall be procured and used from approved vendor along with certificate.
5.2.2 No glass cylinders shall be used for the preparation of cleaning solution; only plastic measuring cylinders shall be used for this purpose.
5.2.3 The sanitizing / disinfectant solutions shall be Prepared freshly when required
5.2.4 The solutions shall be prepared by appropriately diluting the active stock solution of cleaning disinfectant with water to get the desired concentration of the final solution
5.2.5 Surfaces where to be applied shall be thoroughly cleaned before sanitizing / disinfecting to Avoid neutralization of sanitizing agent.
5.2.6 Disinfectant solutions shall not be mixed with detergent.
5.2.7 Use disinfectant agents alternately every fortnightly to prevent Microbial built-up.
5.2.8 Always wear hand gloves, mask and other relevant personal protective equipment whenever required.
5.2.9 Mention the name of disinfectant solution used for the current week in the report.
5.3 Following cleaning and disinfectant agents are approved for the cleaning as per given concentration. Mix water and active stock solution as per following tabulation to get required volume and concentration for the following items.
5.3.1 0.1% Teepol solution (e.g. 10 ml Teepol in to 10 Ltr. of potable water) solution as cleaning agent for Floorings
5.3.2 2.5% Savlon, 2.5% Dettol for disinfectant. (2.5 ml – 100 ml)
5.4 Preparation of Solutions:
5.4.1 Prepare the solutions of required concentration as per following tabulation to get required volume for the following items.
5.4.2 Sanitizing / Disinfection Solutions;

5.4.4 Take cleaned plastic bucket /SS container /cylinder marked with measuring volume in liter.
5.4.5 Take quantity of active solution into plastic container /SS container / bucket on the basis of above calculated table.
5.4.6 First measure the volume of water in the plastic container / bucket marked for the specific volume. Add the desired volume of active stock solution of the disinfected to it.
5.4.7 The solution remaining at the end of the day shall be disposed off in the drainage.
5.4.8 Clean the container with plenty of water.

2. | Dustbin | The accumulated dust, dirt, dry leaves shall be deposited in the dustbin. The dustbin shall be emptied in the garbage. |
3. | Drains | The gutters shall be cleaned by removing any materials clogging the flow of water. The manhole covers also shall be cleared of any accumulated dust. Floor drains shall be cleaned at regular frequencies as per the standard schedule. The removable covers shall be taken out and washed with the cleaning solution. The non-removable covers shall be washed with the cleaning solution. |
4. | Toilet / Urinal | The sequence of cleaning is in the following order: Toilet bowl and urinal potWalls, wash basin and floorSink Clean & scrub the Toilets and Urinals with a brush to remove all dirt, stains & rubbish. Clean the wall tiles, wash basins and floor with a separate nylon brush to remove stains with the cleaning solution. Wash with water to remove all detergents. Sanitize toilets, urinals, wall tiles and wash basins by disinfectant solution. Sanitize floors by mopping with disinfectant solution. The wall tiles shall be wiped with clean cloth. The portion below platforms sinks etc. including the corners shall be cleaned. |
5. | Floors | Remove and collect all the un-wanted materials from the floors & corridors and put into the dustbins. Mop the areas with the disinfectant solution. Disinfectant Solution shall be sprinkled on the floor and mopped with a rubber mop. |
6. | Window | Clean the window glasses of areas with dry cloth. In addition to above following procedure shall be carried out. |
7. | Fans / Tubes | All the fans and tubes light other utilities shall be cleaned with a clean cloth. |
8. | Canteen | Clean the area of all the unwanted tins, bags, barrels etc. All the leftover food in the plates (if any) on the table and on the floor is to be collected and put in the dustbin. All the water shall be drained out from the wash basin and collect the remaining leftover food lying in the sink and wash basins is to be put in the dustbin. The tiles sink and wash basins shall be cleaned and scrubbed with a brush using a cleaning solution till the stains are removed. |
9. | Tables /Chairs/Lockers | The lockers, tables and chairs shall be cleaned with clean dry cloth. The tabletops shall be cleaned with clean cloth soaked in cleaning solution and then with water. |
10. | Premises | The entire wall corners, windows seals, etc. shall be cleaned with a long probe with brush to remove cobwebs, dust etc. |
11. | Store Area | The racks, cupboards, etc. shall be cleaned with cloth to remove cobwebs, etc. followed by cleaning with a duster to remove the dust, etc |
