| Operation of Hardness Tester |
1.0 OBJECTIVE 1.1 To lay down the procedure for operation of Hardness Tester. 2.0 SCOPE 2.1 This SOP is applicable for operation of Hardness Tester in quality control department. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY 3.1 QC – Chemist / Officer / Executive 4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY 4.1 Head-QC 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Ensure that the instrument is clean and free from any residue of dust or tablet particles. 5.2 Hold the tablet between the jaw and nozzle in edge – wise position. 5.3 Adjust the scale (By sliding) so that the zero on the scale coincides with the pointer. 5.4 Turn the screw knob slowly till the tablet breaks. The reading scale on the dial is in kg/ cm². 5.5 Repeat the test on other sample and record the data. 5.6 Record all the observations. 5.7 Calibration done by outside party. 5.8 Make all the entries in the instrument usage log book format number QCS008/F/02, after usage. 5.9 Frequency: Yearly. |
