1.0 OBJECTIVE:-
1.1 This SOP. applicable for the procedure for dismantling, cleaning and operation of Sifter.
2.0 SCOPE:-
2.1 This procedure is applicable for dismantling, cleaning and operation of Sifter. To prevent cross contamination between products. To ensure error free operation of machine. Sifting of raw material. To get required size of granules in production.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:-
3.1 Execution: Operator
3.2 Checking: Production Officer
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:–
4.1 Head of Department.
5.0 Procedure for cleaning:
5.1.1 Remove “TO BE CLEANED” tag from equipment.
5.1.2 Turn “OFF” the electric supply & remove the plug.
5.1.3 Dismantle the following parts and take them to the washing area and wash it.
5.1.4 S.S. feed hopper
5.1.5 S.S. frame (For holding the sieve in place) S.S. wire mesh sieve
5.1.6 Wash the above parts using tap water (Use nylon brush if require to clean sieves) to remove adhered sticky mass.
5.1.7 Finally Rinse it with D.M. Water, allow drying it and arranging in it on sifter in reverse order of dismantling.
5.1.8 Clean `Material receiving and delivering assembly’ in the same sequences as above.
5.1.9 Remove the dust from bowl and fully clean its with tap water.
5.1.10 Rinse it with D.M. water and clean with lint free cloth.
5.1.11 Clean surrounding area of the machine as per SOP.
5.1.12 Record the details in equipment cleaning record as per Annexure-1 of this SOP
5.1.13 Affix a “CLEANED” tag on the machine.
5.1.14 SAFETY: Protect Motor from contact of water.
5.1.15 FREQUENCY:
Product to product changes over. Procedure is given below for batch to batch cleaning in production department.
Take a lint free clean cloth and wipe the hopper and discharge chute from inside and outside.
Clean S.S. frame, Sieve and other parts which comes in contact with material using clean lint
Free clothes.
5.2 Procedure for Operation:
5.2.1 Check the sieve for integrity as per respective SOP.
5.2.2 Affix a stage label on machine.
5.2.3 Take line clearance from Q.A. Department as per respective SOP.
5.2.4 Fix the sieve on the sifter as mentioned in BMR of respective product and set the S. S. frame above it and tighten it with surrounding fixed clamps in production department.
5.2.5 Keep a clean plastic container lined with single poly bag below the granule delivery chute of the sifter.
5.2.6 Charge the material as shown in Batch Production Record of respective product using clean scoop.
5.2.7 Collect the sifted material into the plastic container duly labelled with appropriate stage label located below the material delivery chute.
5.2.8 Collect oversize material (where as applicable) in another container.
5.2.9 Affix a “TO BE CLEANED” tag on machine.
6.0 ABBREVIATIONS:
6.1 EFF : Effective
