| Re-Sealing And Re-Packing Of Containers/Packs |
1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for re-sealing and re-packing of containers / packs. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the re-sealing and re-packing of containers / packs in warehouse. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Officer – Warehouse shall be responsible for re-sealing and re-packing of container as per this SOP. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 PVC : Poly vinyl chloride. 4.3 HDPE : High density poly ethylene. 4.4 LDPE : Low density poly ethylene 4.5 QA : Quality Assurance 4.6 CC NO : Change Control Number 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 Ensure that resealing/repacking of the original containers/packs when the samples withdrawn by quality control chemist and after dispensing of material by warehouse personnel. 5.2 The re-packing and re- sealing is done of, LDPE Bags, HDPE drums/fiber drums, small PVC containers containing colors and flavors, corrugated shippers, Aluminium pouches. To read this SOP click here SOP for Cleaning And Storage Of Dispensing Tools. 5.3 Precautionary measures: 5.3.1 Re-seal the original containers/packs immediately after sampling/dispensing. 5.3.2 Ensure the tight sealing of the container/packs. 5.3.3 Ensure that after opening the container, the lid is kept on the fresh poly bag / sheet. 5.3.4 Re-sealing of LDPE bags and HDPE drums. 5.3.5 Re-sealing of bag is done by closely folding, tightly twisting and by tie with cable tie/plastic thread. 5.3.6 Ensure the sealing by cable tie should be tightened to the limit as to the airtight. 5.3.7 Take care to avoid air trapping. 5.3.8 Re-seal the inner and out poly bags (contained in) HDPE drums, as mentioned in the above points no. 5.3.2 to 5.3.7. 5.3.9 Closed the lid of the HDPE container and tight with clamp. 5.3.10 For re-sealing of the small containers, twist and tight the lid to the maximum possible Limit. 5.3.11 The corrugated shippers are re-sealed with the help of the BOPP tape. In case material is contained with the directly exposed to the shipper, then shipper should be bagged in poly bag and the same should be twisted, folded and tied with the cable tie. 5.3.12 For re-sealing of aluminium pouches, use the transparent tape and cable tie if requires. Ensure that the sealing should be air tight. |
