Cleaning, Operation and Calibration of Micro Meter |
1.0 OBJECTIVE 1.1 To lay down the procedure for Cleaning, operation and calibration of Micro meter. 2.0 SCOPE 2.1 This SOP is applicable for Cleaning, operation and calibration of Micro meter in quality control department. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY 3.1 QC-officer/QC–Executive 4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY 4.1 Head-QC 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Cleaning procedure 5.1.1 Handle the Micro meter very carefully. 5.1.2 Clean the outer surface of the instrument with clean dry cloth after each use. 5.1.3 After the cleaning keep the Micro meter in its case. 5.2 General condition 5.2.1 Ensure that the instrument is clean before and after each operation. 5.2.2 Before use ensure that Micro meter is calibrated. 5.3 Operating procedure 5.3.1 Instrument should be clean and free from Dust/fiber particles. 5.3.2 Check the zero setting. If there is error adjust the “0” with the screw to the pointer. 5.3.3 Open the screw slowly & insert the sample between it. 5.3.4 Close the screw slowly applying sufficient pressure to fix the sample. 5.3.5 Measure the reading on main scale & rotatory scale reading. 5.3.6 The least count of the apparatus is 0.001 mm. 5.3.7 Keep the apparatus in its case, when not in use. 5.4 Calibration procedure: Shall be calibrated by external party. 5.5 Report to Head – QC, if any discrepancy observed during calibration or operating the instrument and affix below ‘Under Maintenance’ label on the instrument. SIGNATURE :…………………. 5.6 Frequency: Once in a year and after each maintenance. 5.7 When the Micro meter for packing material complies with the requirement/acceptance criteria of calibration, affix the calibration tag on instrument duly filled with initial and date. 5.8 When Micro meter for packing material does not comply with the requirement/acceptance criteria of calibration Micro meter shall be labeled “OUT OF CALIBRATION”. Micro meter shall be repaired/serviced and recalibrated as per out of calibration SOP no: XXX. |
