Hydrochloric Acid |
1.0 PROCEDURE 1.1 Sampling Quantity: 50ml 1.2 Description: A Clear, colourless, fuming liquid; odour, pungent. Pour about 2.0 g of sample ina clean dry Petri dish and observe with unaided eye observed against specification. 1.2.1 Assay: By Titrimetry (33% to 37% on such basis) Take 2.0 gm of sample add 30 ml of water, mix and titrate with 1M sodium hydroxide (NaOH) using methyl red solution as a indicator. Each ml of 1M sodium hydroxide(NaOH) is equivalent to 0.03646 g of HCl. Purity of HCl = Vol. cons. of 1M NaOH(sodium hydroxide) x Factor x Actual Molarity x 100 / Sample weight x Stated Molarity To read this GTP Click here Preparation and Standardization of 0.1M Ceric Ammonium Sulphate. |
