SOP on Operation and Handling of Hygrometer |
1.0 OBJECTIVE 1.1To lay down the procedure for Operation and Handling of Hygrometer at Quality Control Department. 2.0 SCOPE 2.1This SOP is applicable for Operation and Handling of Hygrometer in quality control department. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY 3.1QC – Chemist / Officer / Executive 4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY 4.1Head-QC 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 The instrument shall be hanged in the specified position, where steady flow of air is around the instrument. 5.2 The front panel of digital hygrometer has LCD display. 5.3 On the bottom right hand side of the digital hygrometer there are three keys. 5.3.1MODE 5.3.2 ADJ 5.3.3 MEMORY 5.4 LCD display screen has two parts of display, they are 5.4.1The square box on the bottom left hand side of the screen, displays time in HH:MM. where, HH stands for hours from 00 to 23 or 00 to 12 MM stands for minutes from 00 to 59 5.1.1.1By pressing “MODE” function key for long time, the minute (MM) digits starts blinking. Now, with the help of “ADJ” function key, we can increase the minute. Now again pressing “MODE” function key the hour (HH) digits start blinking, which can be increased with the help of “ADJ” function key. 5.1.1.2By pressing “ADJ” key for longer time we can set alarm and again press “ADJ” function key snoozing is set. 5.1.1.3Again pressing “MODE” function key for long time, we can change the hour system clock from “24 hr” or “12 hr” as desired. 5.1.1.4Again pressing “MODE” function key for long time, month (M) and date (D) is displayed. 5.4.2The left over area displays the temperature on the above right hand side in °C/ °F till one decimal place and humidity in percentage at the right hand side. 5.4.3With the help of the “MEMORY” function key on the extreme right hand side of the digital hygrometer we can observe the maximum/ minimum temperature in °C/ °F and humidity in percentage. 5.5On the back side of the instrument there are two functions keys and a battery compartment. 5.5.1On the left hand side there is °C/ °F function key by which we can measure the temperature in the specified temperature unit. 5.5.2On the right hand side there is a “RESET” function key by which we can reset the whole instrument. 5.5.3There is a battery compartment, where AAA 1.5 V battery is inserted. When battery is removed the instrument keys off automatically. 5.6 Calibration is to be done by outside party. 5.7 Frequency: Yearly 5.8 The observed values (Temperature and Humidity) displayed are to be recorded three times in a day as given in Format No. XXX. 6.0 ABBREVIATIONS 6.1SOP : Standard operating procedure 6.2QC : Quality control 6.3% : Percentage 6.4°F : Fahrenheit 6.5°C : Degree centigrade 6.6LCD : Liquid crystal display |
