1.0 Scope: This procedure is applicable for preparation of Methyl Orange (0.1% w/v) indicator. 2.0 Apparatus: 100 ml volumetric flask 3.0 Preparation: Weigh about 0.10 gm Methyl orange in a 100 ml volumetric flask. Dissolve it in 80 ml purified water and make up to the mark with Ethanol and shake well. 4.0 Storage: Stored in a plastic/glass bottle at room temperature. 5.0 Sensitivity Test (if applicable): A mixture of 0.1 ml if the solution and 100 ml of Purified/ Milli-Q water is yellow. Not More than 0.1 ml of 0.1 M hydrochloric acid is required to change the colour to red. |
