1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for cleaning and sanitization of Drain Point of Core Production Area, Warehouse and Quality Control area. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This SOP is applicable for cleaning and sanitization of Drain Points. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Trained Operators are responsible for cleaning and sanitization of drain point as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP. 3.2 Production Officer/ Supervisor are responsible for implementation of the procedure as per this SOP. 3.3 Production Head is responsible for compliance of procedure as per this SOP. To read this SOP Click here SOP for Operation and Qualification Of Steam Sterilizer. 4.0 PROCEDURE: 4.1 Cleaning of Drain Point: 4.1.1 Remove drain cover, perforated SS plate and basket from drain point (Drain Assembly) and put in poly bag and take in washing area. 4.1.2 Removing debris from drain covers perforated SS plate and basket and collects in separate poly bag. 4.1.3 Use nylon brush to remove/break loose gross debris. 4.1.4 Clean items with 0.1% Teepol Solution using nylon brush from inside and outside. 4.1.5 Also clean the assembly by 0.1% Teepol solution with help of nylon brush. 4.1.6 Clean all the items by using water and visually inspect the item if found unclean repeat the procedure from step 4.1.3 to4.1.6. 4.1.7 All drain points are listed. 4.2 Sanitization of Drain Point: 4.2.1 Freshly prepare 5.0 % solution of sanitizing agent (Savlon and Dettol) as per procedure given step no. 5.3. 4.2.2 Apply sanitizing agent to all surfaces, including drain cover and basket. 4.2.3 Fill the basket of drain with sanitization solution then finally cover it by perforated tray and cover and maintain the record as per Annexure –2. 4.2.4 Frequency: Daily at the end of the day. 4.3 Preparation of Solutions: 4.3.1 Prepare solutions of required concentration as per following Table No. -1 Table – 1 Total volume with water 5.0% V/V Savlon 5.0% V/V Dettol 1000 ml (1.0 Liter) 50 ml. 50ml. 4.3.2 Take cleaned plastic bucket /SS container /cylinder marked with measuring volume in liter. 4.3.3 Measure required quantity of sanitizing agent in plastic container /SS container / bucket and then add 1000 ml purified water and stir for 5 minutes. 4.3.4 If solution remaining at the end of the day, it should be disposed off in the drainage. 4.3.5 Clean the container with plenty of water. 5.0 ABBREVIATION: 5.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 5.2 QA : Quality Assurance 5.3 CC NO : Change Control Number 5.4 V/V : Volume by Volume |
