5.0 Procedure(Soft Water Generation System)
5.1 Safety Precautions
5.1.1 Use proper hand gloves duly disinfected with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) or Chlorinated Water while preparing the solution.
5.1.2 Before start-up check all the utilities, Chemicals are ready and check the Manual valves position before starting pumps.
5.1.3 Ensure that required manual valves are opened during operation.
5.1.4 Ensure that working pressure and temperature during operation lies within acceptable range.
5.2 Brine Injection Mode :
5.2.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).(Soft Water Generation System)
5.2.2 Fill Brine Tank 109.15.BMT-01 up to required level.
5.2.3 Prepare brine solution Pure NaCl is used as regenerate30% concentrate solution is prepared from this reagent to produce brine for regeneration as per SOP to make a brine solution 350ltr water and 105 kg NaCl in brine tank and mix it properly.
5.2.4 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & MGF Service Valves are opened before starting the Softener brine injection cycle.
5.2.5 Open Brine Suction Valve 109.15.VBU7-07, Power Water Valve 109.15.VBU7-06, Rinsing Valve 109.15.VBU7-05 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.2.6 After completing Softener brine injection cycle press the S

5.3 NaOCl DOSING SYSTEM :
5.3.1 Prepare NaOCl solution as per requirement & feed it into NaOCl Dosing Tank 101.11.DOST-01.
5.3.2 Fill up NaOCl Dosing Tank 101.11.DOST-01 up to the required level.
5.3.3 Start the system & monitor the raw water inlet flow at 201.01.FS-01.
5.3.4 If the flow at 201.01.FS-01 is as per the requirement then start the NaOCl Dosing Pump 101.11.PDS7-01 & fill up Raw Water Tank 101.11.RAWT-01 by chlorinated water up to requirement.(Soft Water Generation System)
5.4 Multigrade Sand Filter System (104.14.MGF-01) :
Service Mode:
5.4.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.4.2 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & Manual Valves 104.14.VBU7-01, 104.14.VBU7-03, 104.14.VBU7-05 are closed before starting the MGF service cycle.
5.4.3 During MGF service cycle, ensure that respective cycle valves of Softener 109.15.SF-01 are opened.
5.4.4 Open MGF Service Valves 104.14.VBU7-04, 104.14.VBU7-02 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.4.5 After completing MGF service cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the MGF Service Valves 104.14.VBU7-04, 104.14.VBU7-02.
5.5 Backwash Mode:
5.5.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.5.2 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & Manual Valves 104.14.VBU7-02, 104.14.VBU7-03, 104.14.VBU7-04 are closed before starting the MGF backwash cycle.
5.5.3 Open MGF Backwash Valves 104.14.VBU7-01, 104.14.VBU7-05 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.5.4 After completing MGF backwash cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the MGF Backwash Valves 104.14.VBU7-01, 104.14.VBU7-05.
5.6 Rinse Mode :
5.6.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.6.2 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & Manual Valves 104.14.VBU7-01, 104.14.VBU7-02, 104.14.VBU7-05 are closed before starting the MGF rinse cycle.
5.6.3 Open MGF Rinse Valves 104.14.VBU7-04, 104.14.VBU7-03 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.6.4 After completing MGF rinse cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the MGF Rinse Valves 104.14.VBU7-04, 104.14.VBU7-03.
5.6.5 Once the MGF rinse cycle is completed, open the MGF service valves & run the MGF in service mode again.
5.7 Softener System (109.15.SF-01) :
Service Mode:
5.7.1 During all the cycles of Softener, MGF should be in service mode.
5.7.2 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.7.3 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) is opened & MGF Service Valves are opened before starting the Softener service cycle.
5.7.4 Open Softener Service Valves 109.15.VBU7-03, 109.15.VBU7-02 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.7.5 After completing Softener service cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the Softener Service Valves 109.15.VBU7-03, 109.15.VBU7-02.
5.8 Backwash Mode:
5.8.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.8.2 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & MGF Service Valves are opened before starting the Softener backwash cycle.
5.8.3 Open Softener Backwash Valves 109.15.VBU7-01, 109.15.VBU7-04 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.8.4 After completing Softener backwash cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the Softener Backwash Valves 109.15.VBU7-01, 109.15.VBU7-04.
5.8.5 TOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the Brine Suction Valve 109.15.VBU7-07.
5.9 Slow Rinse Mode
5.9.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.9.2 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & MGF Service Valves are opened before starting the Softener slow rinse cycle.
5.9.3 Ensure that Power Water Valve 109.15.VBU7-06, Rinsing Valve 109.15.VBU7-05 are opened & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.9.4 After completing Softener slow rinse cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the Power Water Valve 109.15.VBU7-06, Rinsing Valve 109.15.VBU7-05.
5.10 Fast Rinse Mode:
5.10.1 First ensure that the level of Raw Water Storage Tank (101.11.RAWT-01) is up to the requirement (it should not be Low-Low).
5.10.2 Ensure that Manual Valves 103.14.VBU7-01, 103.14.VBU7-02 (control as per required flow rate) are opened & MGF Service Valves are opened before starting the Softener fast rinse cycle.
5.10.3 Open Softener Fast Rinse Valves 109.15.VBU7-03, 109.15.VBU7-05 & press the START button provided in Control Panel to start the Pump 103.14.PCS2-01.
5.10.4 After completing Softener fast rinse cycle press the STOP button provided in Control Panel to stop the MGF Feed Pump 103.14.PCS2-01 & close the Fast Rinse Valves 109.15.VBU7-03, 109.15.VBU7-05.
5.10.5 After completing all the cycles, start the service cycle of Softener again.
5.11 Acceptance Criteria:
5.11.1 After NaOCl Dosing Chlorine should be more than 5 ppm.
5.11.2 MGF outlet TSS should be less than 10 ppm.
5.11.3 Softener outlet hardness should be less than 5 ppm.
5.11.4 UF outlet SDI should be 3-4.
