1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down a procedure for Cleaning and Sanitization of Raw Water Tank. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for Cleaning And Sanitation Of Raw Water Tank. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 The concerned technical shall carry out the Cleaning And Sanitation Of Raw Water Tank. 3.2 The officer engineering shall be responsible for implementation of cleaning and sanitization procedure. 3.3 Head of Engineering department will be responsible for compliance of cleaning and Sanitization. To Read this SOP Click here SOP for In Process Analytical Request For Bulk/ Semi Finished/ Finished Goods Samples. 4.0 PROCEDURE: 4.1 PRECAUTIONS: 4.1.1 Ensure that the drain valve (if any) is opened. 4.1.2 Ensure that the main inlet water valve to the tank is closed. 4.1.3 As long as the person cleaning the tank is inside the tank, ensure that a second person is sitting near the mouth of the tank as a safety precaution in case any emergency arises. Also, exit from the tank should be conveniently available to the person cleaning the tank. 4.2 CLEANING PROCEDURE: 4.2.1 Drain the water from tank. 4.2.2 Scrub the walls from inside 4.2.3 Splash water on inside walls to remove the dirtiness. 4.2.4 Drain out the dirty water. 4.2.5 Take 2% of tank quantity as solution of sodium hypochlorite and splash it on the inside walls of the tank. 4.2.6 Stand for 30 Minutes 4.2.7 After 30 minutes, clean the inside walls of the tank for removal of sodium hypochlorite by splashing water on the walls. 4.2.8 Drain out the dirty water and refill the water tank. 4.2.9 Check the filled water visually by taking in a 200ml glass beaker, for any objectionably matter. 4.2.10 The cleaning details shall be entered in the cleaning log of raw water tank. 4.3 FREQUENCY: 4.3.1 Frequency of cleaning and sanitization of raw water tank is once in a month. 4.3.2 In case of cleaning to be done bio-monthly, a deviation of doing the cleaning after the scheduled date up to 15 days is allowed. In case of cleaning to be done monthly, a deviation of doing the cleaning after the scheduled date up to 10 days is allowed. In case of cleaning to be done half monthly, a deviation of doing the cleaning after the scheduled date up to 7 days is allowed. 5.0 ABBREVIATIONS 5.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 5.2 CC NO : Change Control Number |
