1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down a procedure of Preventive Maintenance machine and equipment. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for procedure of Preventive Maintenance. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 procedure of Preventive Maintenance : Concerned Technician 3.2 Preparation and implementation procedure of Preventive maintenance Procedure : Officer Engineering 3.3 Compliance procedure of Preventive Maintenance Procedure: Head of Engineering Department. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 QA : Quality Assurance 4.3 CC NO : Change Control Number To read this SOP click here SOP for Operating Procedure Of Boiler. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 Each equipment/Instrument or a system shall have Preventive Maintenance Procedure in the shape of a Standard Operating Procedure. 5.2 All preventive maintenance SOPs shall be prepared as per XXX. 5.3 Annual Preventive Maintenance Planner shall be prepared for the complete year by Engineering Department with effect from 1st of April for every year and approved by Head of Engineering, Concerned department and Quality Assurance. Controlled copies of planner shall be given to concerned department and original copy shall be retained with Quality Assurance Department. 5.4 Preventive Maintenance procedure for each machine shall have a preventive maintenance checklist.. Preventive Maintenance Checklist shall be made as per recommendations of the manufacturer, operation and maintenance manual. 5.5 preventive maintenance check shall be carried out as per the checklist specified in the individual Preventive Maintenance equipment’s SOP. 5.6 A History Card shall be prepared by Engineering Department for each machine, which contains all information related to that machine. I.e. Machine Name, I D No., Capacity, Model, Make, Motors, belt, other consumables details, utility services required. Preventive Maintenance and Breakdown Maintenance in engineering History will be recorded in the back side of History Card along with spare part used, same shall be signed by Technician on ‘Done By’ and checked by Officer / Manager of Engineering Department. 5.7 Any major repair or replacement of any critical part, which affects the performance of the machine, shall be undertaken through change control procedure. 5.8 The spare parts must be procured by the Engineering Department well in advance before the scheduled date of preventive maintenance 5.9 Review of the preventive maintenance schedules shall be done annually to evaluate the frequency of the maintenance. 5.10 On the scheduled date, the machine must be labelled as ‘UNDER MAINTENANCE’ by the Engineering Department 5.11 Before starting maintenance, disconnect the utility services. 5.12 Preventive maintenance must be performed by technicians under the supervision of the maintenance engineer as per the work description mentioned in the SOPs of respective machines 5.13 In case of changes of any parts due to planned/unplanned schedule, the details must be recorded in the remarks column of the preventive maintenance record. 5.14 Deviation limit from the planed scheduled date to carry out preventive maintenance must be within 10 days for once in two months and 30 days for half yearly. 5.15 The preventive maintenance items to be done daily in case of production machines are the responsibility of the Production Department. If however, any abnormality is noticed, the Engineering Services technician may be called for. 5.16 After completion of the preventive maintenance, the utility services must be reconnected 5.17 The equipment usage trial must be taken in the presence of the user department supervisor for its performance 5.18 After successful trial, the machine must be handed over to the concerned department supervisor 5.19 The record of the preventive maintenance must be maintained in the respective Machine History card. |
