1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down a general procedure for Break down Maintenance of Machine & Equipment. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable Break down Maintenance all machines and equipment installed. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Implementation: Head of Engineering Department. 3.2 Compliance to the procedure: Head of Concerned Department / Area In charge. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 QC : Quality Control 4.3 CC NO : Change Control Number To Read this SOP click here SOP for Regeneration For Softener. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 In the event of a break down, the concerned department will fill up the Maintenance Work Order. 5.2 Maintenance Work Order Books will have the printed forms in two coloures, First copy-White colour, Second copy-Pink colour and Third colour- Green. A set of three copies will have the same serial number. 5.3 Eight characters shall number maintenance work order. 5.4 The First character shall be M denoting Maintenance work order. 5.5 The Second character shall be a stroke. 5.6 The Third and Fourth character shall denote the department code. It should be for Quality Control-QC, Production-PD, and Engineering –EG, warehouse – WH, Human Resource-HR. 5.7 The Fifth Character Shall is a stroke (/). 5.8 The Sixth, Seventh and Eight characters shall be the running serial number of the work order that shall start from ‘000’. 5.9 Describe in detail the problem with the equipment in the space provided. 5.10 Indicate clearly, if the problem is an emergency and will affect production. 5.11 The requesting department shall send the maintenance work order book to the Engineering Department and after getting it acknowledged shall retain the green copy with them. The white and the pink copy shall be retained by the Engineering Department. 5.12 Engineering personnel shall contact the requesting department for full description of the problem. 5.13 Engineering personnel shall perform the repair work. 5.14 After repairs of machine and satisfaction of requesting department, the Engineering personnel shall fill in, both white and pink copies, the second section of work order, indicating the description of the work done. 5.15 Engineering personnel shall retain white copy of work order. They shall send 2nd pink copy to the requesting department for their record. 5.16 The white copy of work order shall be filled in the individual Equipment File, and kept with the Engineering Department. All work details shall record in machine history card. 5.17 All breakdown detail shall be record in maintenance record XXX. 5.18 Any major repair or replacement of any critical part, which affects the performance of the machine, shall be undertaken through change control procedure. |
