1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for sanitation and cleaning of warehouse drug products. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the sanitation and cleaning of warehouse drug products facility. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Assistant– warehouse shall be responsible for compliance for the cleaning of warehouse drug products. 3.2 Housekeeping-Assistant shall be responsible for cleaning the warehouse drug products on daily basis as per this SOP. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 BSR : Bonded Storage Room 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 The areas covered under warehouse drug products include the following: 5.1.1 Material entry air locks (Receiving/ dedusting area). 5.1.2 Primary change room. 5.1.3 Quarantine, under test, Approved area. 5.1.4 Rejected Raw material store. 5.1.5 A/C Controlled room – approved raw material. To read this SOP click here SOP for Receipt Storage And Dispatch Of Finished Goods. 5.1.6 A/C Controlled room – under test raw material. 5.1.7 Cold storage – BSR. 5.1.8 Office rooms. 5.1.9 Packing material storage area. 5.1.10 Material receiving platform. 5.1.11 Aluminium/ Lami tube Storage Area. 5.2 Cleaning materials and agents: 5.2.1 Housekeeping personal should use the nylon brooms, vacuum cleaners, floor/wall wipers, mopes, lint free cloth dusters and a house keeping trolley to keep the disinfectant solution and other cleaning aids. 5.2.2 Colin for glass cleaning. 5.2.3 2.5% Dettol solution-general disinfectant. 5.2.4 2.5% Savlon solution-general disinfectant. 5.3 Disinfectant solutions are rotated once in a fortnight for cleaning the areas mentioned under point. 5.4 The sanitation and cleaning activities of warehouse is described as below under the frequencies like daily, weekly & fortnightly checks. 5.4.1 The daily cleaning activities are as follows: – 5.4.1.1 Floor Cleaning:  Sweep/vacuum the floor thoroughly with a nylon broom/vacuum cleaning.  Mop the floor thoroughly with a stick finger mop soaked in Savlon solution or dettol.  Mop the floor twice a day.  Leave the floor for drying after moping. 5.4.1.2 Glass panes and mirrors:  Spray the glass-cleaning agents (Colin) on glass panes and mirrors.  Wet mop with the clean cloth/white duster.  Dry mop with dry cloth. 5.4.1.3 Door & Window frames:  Dedust with the clean mopping cloth  Wet mop with cloth soaked in disinfectant solution.  Finally dry mop and allow the frames for to dry.  Clean the window frames, glass panes etc. 5.4.1.4 Clean the finger mops in clean soap water to avoid any deposits of dirt. 5.4.1.5 Clean the floor corners with cloth and mops. 5.4.1.6 Rinse the clothes/mops regularly in clean soap water. 5.4.1.7 Empty all the dustbins and replace them back in the respective areas. 5.4.1.8 Warehouse department maintain the records of daily cleaning activities. 5.4.2 The weekly cleaning activities are as follows: 5.4.2.1 Ceiling and walls are cleaned to remove the cobwebs (if any) with the Cobweb brush. 5.4.2.2 De-dust the ceiling and walls with vacuum cleaner. 5.4.2.3 Dedust the furniture viz., tables, chairs, bookcases, cupboards, telephones, intercoms etc. 5.4.2.4 Dust bins:  Clean the dustbins with liquid soap/detergent powder.  Flush the bins with fresh water.  Finally wet mop the bins with disinfectant solution.  Allow the bins for drying. To read this SOP click SOP for Dispensing And Issuance Of Raw Material To Production. 5.4.2.5 Mop the floor with Savlon or dispel and allow the floor to dry. 5.4.2.6 Clean all racks and containers externally using dry mop and vacuum cleaner. 5.4.2.7 After completion of cleaning activities, clean all the used Mops/clothes thoroughly with soap and dry. 5.4.2.8 Housekeeping department performs the above activities. 5.4.3 The fortnight cleaning activities are as follows: 5.4.3.1 Clean all the electrical fittings like exhausts, tube lights, Tube light covers/frames using dry cloth. Adequate care should be taken while cleaning of these accessories. 5.4.3.2 Caution: Ensure the main electrical supply is cut-off before starting the cleaning activities of the above accessories or take a help of company electrical. 5.5 Clean the dispensing area and Sampling area to be done as same SOP title- Operating and cleaning procedure of sampling booth & dispensing booth. 5.6 Apart from the above, all pallets and racks to be cleaned before keeping any new material. |
