1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down a procedure for Cleaning and sanitization of Soft Water tank. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the Sanitation Of Soft Water Tank and potable water tank. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Cleaning and Sanitization Procedure: Concerned Technician. 3.2 Implementation of Cleaning and Sanitization Procedure: Officer-Engineering.( Sanitation Of Soft Water Tank) 3.3 Compliance of Cleaning and Sanitization Procedure: Head of Engineering Department. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 ppm : Parts per million 4.3 CC NO : Change Control Number To Read this SOP click here SOP for Operation Of Purified Water Generation System. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 PRECAUTION: 5.1.1 Ensure that drain valve is open. 5.1.2 Ensure that main inlet valve to tank is closed. 5.1.3 As long as the person cleaning the tank is inside the tank, ensure that a second person is sitting near the mouth of the tank as a safety precaution in case any emergency arises. Also, exit from the tank should be conveniently available to the person cleaning the tank. 5.2 PROCEDURE :- 5.2.1 The water in the tank shall be drained out by opening the drain valve. 5.2.2 Scrub the tank from inside. 5.2.3 Splash water on inside walls to remove the dirtiness Drain out the dirty water by opening of drain valve. 5.2.4 Splash 2% solution of Sodium hypochlorite mixed with water on inside walls of the tank 5.2.5 After 30 Minutes, clean the inside walls of the tank for removal of Sodium hypochlorite with high pressure water using pump. 5.2.6 Drain out the dirty water. 5.2.7 Refill the water tank. 5.2.8 Check the filled water parameters for softener tank i.e. Hardness of the water should be less than 5 ppm. If found O.K., release for usage. 5.2.9 Frequency of cleaning and sanitization of Soft water Tank and potable water tank is once in months. 5.2.10 All cleaning and sanitization of water tank shall be record in log sheet. 5.3 Frequency: 5.3.1 Frequency of cleaning and sanitization of potable water tank is once in months. 5.3.2 Frequency of cleaning and sanitization of soft water tank is once in a 15 days. 5.3.3 In case of cleaning to be done bio-monthly, a deviation of doing the cleaning after the scheduled date upto 15 days is allowed. 5.3.4 In case of cleaning to be done monthly, a deviation of doing the cleaning after the scheduled date upto 10 days is allowed. 5.3.5 In case of cleaning to be done half monthly, a deviation of doing the cleaning after the scheduled date upto 7 days is allowed. |
