| Handling Of Retest Material |
| 1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for handling of retest materials. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the handling of Retest materials under in Warehouse. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Officer– Warehouse shall be responsible to verify and inform the quality control department the material which is under due for retest materials. 3.2 In-charge – warehouse shall be responsible for compliance of this SOP. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 FEFO : First Expiry First Out. To read this SOP click SOP for Dispensing And Issuance Of Raw Material To Production. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 After receipt of the material, enter the details of the material in ‘Retesting Register’ as per Format XXX that is maintained by the Warehouse. 5.2 Warehouse personnel verify Retesting material every day through ERP system to list out the materials going to fall under due in coming 15 days. 5.3 Prepare the re-testing intimation note as per Format XXX or through computer generated ERP system for that particular material, 15 days in advance before its due date. Shift the material to the quarantine area and affix the “QUARANTINE” label on each container and preserve in quarantine area till the test status of retest is obtained from Quality control. 5.4 Ensure the Re-test status one day before the last due date for retest. 5.5 On receipt of intimation, Quality Control arranges for sampling and retesting. 5.6 After getting the Approval/Rejected status of material, Quality Control shall affix the APPROVED/REJECTED label, covering the existing label. 5.7 Quality Control returns the retesting intimation note to warehouse indicating the material Approved/Rejected status. 5.8 In case the material is rejected, transfer the material to rejected area and inform to the Head of the Department /Purchase department to decide the further course of action. 5.9 In case of any requirement of same material during its retest period, take the material from next consignment followed by FEFO basis. 5.10 Once the retesting material is approved, discontinue the running consignment and continue with new approved retested material. |
