1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 The lay down the Laundry Procedure for the uniforms used inside the manufacturing facility. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for the Laundry Procedure for all the manufacturing facility and linen used. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Human Resources Officer/Executive. 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 QC : Quality Control 4.3 HRD : Human Resources Department 4.4 HR & ADM : Human Resource & Administration. 4.5 P & A : Personnel & Administration To read this SOP click here SOP for Entry And Exit Of Staff And Visitors. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 The linen shall be sent for washing to the laundry. 5.2 The linen shall be collected and washed separately for different usage areas. 5.3 The cloth garments and other accessories shall be washed out sourcing. 5.4 The Linen Room Boy shall check washing, drying and pressing of linen before storage. 5.5 Linen Storage 5.5.1 The washed linen shall be stored in the washed garment store room 5.5.2 The required quantity of garments shall be issued to respective department 5.6 Linen Issuance 5.6.1 The Linen Room Boy shall issue fresh and un-used linen. 5.6.2 Aprons used in the Quality Control Laboratory shall be sent for washing at twice in a week. 5.6.3 In the core manufacturing areas the secondary gown shall be made available in the respective secondary change room. 5.6.4 The linen shall be changed as and when found damaged, wet or up on process requirement. To read this SOP click here SOP for FIRST AID. 5.7 Linen Retrieval 5.7.1 The Linen shall be collected separately form the different work areas. 5.7.2 To avoid contamination, the used linen shall be sent for washing separately 5.8 Linen Washing 5.8.1 Under no circumstances the linen from different areas will be allowed to mix during their storage, issuance, washing. 5.8.2 After washing, drying & pressing the linen shall be stored separately in a washed garment store. 5.9 Linen Washing from Microbiology Area 5.9.1 The used linen from Microbiology Area shall be collected separately. 5.9.2 To avoid contamination, the used linen shall be washed separately. 5.9.3 As recommended used garment shall be decontaminate soaking in 2.5% disinfectant solution for not less than 15 minutes before taken for washing. 5.10 Linen Repair 5.10.1 Any linen found with any damage, removal of stitch, not functioning of zip or any other defects shall be rectified by sending it to the linen supplier/ tailor. 5.10.2 After rectification or repair the linen shall be washed and then used. 5.10.3 Irreparable linen shall be destroyed and order for new to be placed |
