1.0 OBJECTIVE: 1.1 To lay down the procedure for regeneration for Softener. 2.0 SCOPE: 2.1 This procedure is applicable for softener plant. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 3.1 Regeneration for Softener: Concerned Technician. 3.2 Implementation of the procedure: Officer Engineering. 3.3 Compliance of Procedure: Head of Engineering Department 4.0 ABBREVIATIONS 4.1 SOP : Standard Operating Procedure 4.2 CC NO : Change Control Number 4.3 NLT : Not less than 4.4 NMT : Not more than. 4.5 Kg/ cm2 : Kilogram per centimetre square 4.6 PPM : Parts per Million 4.7 PQF : Pressure Quartz Filter To Read this SOP Click here SOP for Operation & Cleaning Of Quarantine Storage Tanks. 5.0 PROCEDURE: 5.1 PRESSURE QUARTZ FILTER BACKWASH 5.1.1 Put the Multiport valve in backwash position. 5.1.2 Start the feed water pump and run it for 15 minutes or till clear water comes from drain line. 5.1.3 Stop the feed water pump and change the Multiport valve position to Rinse potion. 5.1.4 Start the feed water pump and run it for 15 minutes or up to clear water comes from drain line. 5.1.5 Stop the feed water pump and repeat the process for 3 times. 5.1.6 Now change the multiport valve position to Filter position. 5.2 REGENERATION FOR SOFTNER: 5.2.1 Prepare brine solution by dissolving 30 to 35 kg (1 bag) Sodium Chloride in 200 liters of water. 5.2.2 Put the Multiport valve in Regeneration position. 5.2.3 Start the feed water pump. 5.2.4 Now injector will start suck the brine solution. 5.2.5 Run the plant for 45 minutes or up to finish the brine solution. 5.2.6 Stop the feed water pump. 5.2.7 Put the Multiport valve in rinse position. 5.2.8 Run the pump for 30 minutes. 5.2.9 Take the sample from drain line and check it for hardness the hardness should be less then 5ppm. 5.2.10 If hardness comes more then 5ppm then stop the feed water pump and repeat the Regeneration process again. 5.2.11 If hardness comes less then 5ppm then stop the feed water pump and put the multiport valve in service position. 5.2.12 Frequency for Regeneration is daily. |
